The sharing of that perspective is what you are paying for when you a hire a guide.
Mine is from the perspective of an avid Missouri River fly fisher and fly tier. I have fished these waters since 1983 and still do- frequently. I prefer to fish the waters where I guide clients and then teach and coach on the basis of what has worked for me.
I guess I'm an "old-school" guide and I'm quite happy with that description. I still tie a lot of my own my own flies and use these patterns on guide trips. I like to encourage anglers to take what the river gives tactic-wise, be that fishing nymphs, fishing dry flies, or throwing streamers, and I love the old wooden drift boats.
Mostly though, through fly fishing I have been fortunate to meet some truly fascinating folks and have developed many very special life-long friendships.
Oh yes, and we have caught a lot of fish..........
